Lathrup Village Police Department

Never had a problem with the police department ever! Recently went to a lovey pre-thanksgiving dinner meet and greet. Felt very comfortable and the police department was very diverse. Feel very safe to live in the community as a police officers are actually seen doing their rounds or checking our neighborhood streets. Stay safe officers and keep up the good work.

I bike around and Pokemon Go here regularly. Been there even late night past 12 midnight on several occasions. The officers are very nice and will stop to chat and ask if you've seen any rare pokemon lately ^_^nBehave yourself and you shouldn't have any problems playing late at night.

They helped me unlock my car when it was freezing cold outside they didn’t have too thank you so much again!

Very friendly ...Fair....Always cruising through the neighborhood....I feel very safe in Lathrup Village.

There are rumors that the city administration knows and is covering for Interim Chief McKee and some illegal activity that is going on at the police department. At the upcoming meet & greet some serious questions need to be asked. Just FYI for the residents that don't know, Interim Chief McKee has previously been fired for property theft from the Lathrup police evidence locker and then got his job back using the union. Now he has been accused of lying in internal investigations on a regular basis. Officers have tried to get recordings and videos that would confirm these allegations but the city has blocked FOIA attempts. In the last year Interim Chief McKee has made up allegations and then fired 3 officers for no reason while he has been heard bragging about bringing his own crew in. The word is that the officers within the department had high hopes for the new city manager Andy Potter to come in and clean house- but he has not, sounds like business as usual. No transparency and it sounds like no integrity at the top. The City of Lathrup Village needs a change at the top. Lying in your official capacity as a police officer is a felony! And if Mckee didn't do it why is the city blocking FOIA attempts? Something is going on here and we the residents need to demand changes! In addition to these allegations there have been three charges by officers to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission involving age, race and gender discrimination because of McKee's actions. Residents demand change! Go to the meet & greet and ask questions. It's your right to know, the police work for and answer to us.
