It's a chapel from 200 years ago. Cool, and interesting. If you're a history nerd like me it does not take much to get me excited

The Missionary Bark Chapel is located in the massive green grounds of Marquette Park, which is a perfect place to relax, let the kids burn off energy or take in some 1600s history. It's easy to see why Reader's Digest named it the Best Picnic Place in Michigan, with a beautiful view of the Straits of Mackinac, and nearby islands. It's also surrounded by historic building.nnA statue of Jesuit Priest Jacques Marquette stands prominently in the middle. Marquette preached to the Straits area Native Americans beginning in 1671, from a Missionary Bark Chapel, which is recreated at the west side of the park. That brought fur traders, making it the most important French western fur trading place. It also has a peace garden to explore.nnGreat place for #ToursAroundMichigan groups to rest and take in the moment in a beautiful place. #HistoryTours #GroupTours #CustomizedExperiences #GreatLakes #NativeAmericanHistory #Religion #LakeHuron #ChurchTours
