What an interesting tour. The Acadian History should not be forgotten, especially with the current events going on in our country today.nMy husband and I were not familiar with this part of history. We are so gladnwe stopped.
Really loved it..we love historical things and the tour guide gave a really great in depth explanation of everything...we were the only ones there at the time so he spent extra time with us..really got our moneys worth..plus bought some souvenirs.
So, who knew there were Acadians in the extreme north of Maine? Being a Louisiana Cajun, we sought out the St John river valley to check it out. OMG, the old people here sound just like my older relatives in Breauxbridge! We had a great time touring the collection of buildings and artifacts. We saw plenty of things both familiar and new and will recommend to my Cajun relatives who travel to come visit.
A beautiful village to go visit when you are in van Buren.
