Historic New Harmony Atheneum

Went there on a field trip. The building looked cool.

Great historical to current highlights of this very unique community. The movie is excellent narrated by an experienced, well-informed historian. If you have the opportunity, visit the Antheneum; Make sure you allow lots of time.

Defiantly worth going back to. Not on a Sunday. Shops were closed, but still very lovely. ud83dude0a

It's a big 70s modern building in the middle of a field, in a small, picturesque town in the middle of nowhere. Just the fact that it's there is fun and unusual. I wish visitors could walk around on all the balconies on the outside of the building because those looked neat. The inside of the building is super bright and open from all the floor to ceiling windows. There's a little gift shop, a short film about the town's history, and two models of buildings from the town's past.

Even though I was the only visitor there the rainy afternoon of 8/13/2020, I was shown the 11-minute video of the history of the town, and received my own personal tour/explanation after the video by the friendly and knowledgeable gentleman working there that day.
