Went there to see the historic site and actually came across a filming of an X Files episode. There was a giant object wrapped in white plastic that Moulder was trying to gain access to inside the tunnel. Sculley was flashing her FBI badge to the security on site and they were not granting them access. What a breathtaking experience! As walked back to the car we heard gunfire and helicopters flew overhead. John Henry would be proud!
You can't even get inside the tunnel. Nice to look at but not what an explorer wants to just look at. They have cameras up and people monitoring the area... boring. They need to open it up... enter at your own risk.
Beautiful place to visit. I've always wondered what the tunnel looks like on the other side and if you could get access to it. I've also wondered what it looks like if you could somehow Wonder down inside of the tunnel.
Always enjoyed stopping at the old overlook
