We loved our stay! Room was great and bar was even better! Dennis made amazing drinks and was very attentive but the dude needs help! There were several waitresses doing nothing while Dennis busts his butt...maybe they could at least help him wash dishes or something. I mean I wish I had their job getting paid to watch Bobby Flay all night but.....

Great renovations done to this property! Beautiful rustic decor, delicious food and drinks at the restaurant/bar, everything from fine dining to snacks. Awesome local beer served here from brewery across the street from the resort. Warmer months fishing, boating, tubing and swimming available in the lake just behind the lodge. Olympic size pool and soon to open new spa in building beside the lodge. Cabin rentals and adjacent building with additional hotel rooms also an option. Would recommend staying in the lodge. Very friendly staff.

Easter buffet was delicious. It was a served NOT self serve. A really beautiful day in a beautiful restaurant.

A great spot for a getaway! We stayed in the Bear’s Den which was recently remodeled, super clean, and very quiet - upon recommendation from the evening front desk receptionist. Upon arrival, they said they were about to turn on the lights in our place if we arrived after dark. We are at the restaurant two nights in a row and both meals were fantastic!

Bottom line: we wouldn't stay here again unless the price dropped to around $100/night or significant improvements were made. Also, don't go here if you expect staff and patrons to wear masks indoors.nnWe stayed in a kind jacuzzi suite in the woodland house. The suite was very larger and the bed was comfy. The decor seemed like the leftovers from a garage sale with no cohesive theme, very dated, and well loved. Definitely not what you would expect at almost $200/night. An easy improvement would be up spend an hour with a decorator and apply the plan to all the rooms. The jacuzzi tub was excellent. The bathroom was a very awkward layout and the space could have been used much better, but this would be a significant cost to change, unlike the decor. Also, the fridge froze all of our fruits, veggies, beer, etc. That was pretty annoying. The room was really dank feeling. We ran the A/C the entire time and turned the fireplace on when we got cold.nnThe staff were friendly enough. But none of them were wearing masks and they did not seem to expect that the guests would either. The sign on the front door says that masks are required per state/county orders, but not a single employee has a mask on the entire weekend.nnThe website advertises several miles of trails, the employees didn't seem to know anything about that. There are several nice forest roads to walk and a beautiful neighborhood to explore.nnThe pool is advertised as being olympic sized, it should be specified as being short course if that's how they want to frame it. It's 20-25 yards long. However, I couldn't swim laps in the pool. The water was very murky (maybe that's because it's salt water?), but the real issue is that the lights in the water weren't on. I pushed off the wall for my first lap and was immediately hit with a wall of darkness and eerieness. If this was my only option to swim, I would make a point of getting over it. But for a weekend getaway, I'd rather go do something that will be fun, like hike.nThey put some effort into the decor in the fitness building and it looks great, this is what I'd expected for the rooms as well.
