I have lived in Crowley since 1996. My experience with the Crowley Police Dept. has in general, been very positive. I am very impressed with the manner in which Chief Kit Long has been running the dept. and I see the manner in which he has brought the young officers up to build a communication bridge with the public. This past week there was a domestic disturbance in my subdivision. Police were called. I watched the young officers handle the situation calmly and professionally. They made the difference. The family members settled down and in the end, had reconciled. That is good police work!
Crowley police are quick to respond. Officer Mendez was great. I appreciate police who put their lifes on the line for us daily and do their best to serve our community.
As far as my concerns go with the CPD, I think they are a bit rough around the edges. A lot of the reviewers are talking about individual incidents with specific officers. If these issues were that serious, they would need to be taken to the chief. As far as my interactions with them go, they do attempt to get you away from a situation even if it means lying to you about your rights. I would just be careful about what you are doing, and then your problems will solve themselves. Thanks for reading and I hope this shows how some people make this force out to be evil or bad in some sort of way.
Me and my family found my stolen truck before we even had the police tell us where it was. Have video evidence of the truck involved but seem like as soon as the truck came back up the police stopped caring to actually do something even though we have the video evidence.
Criminals hate cameras and your police officers are no exception. If you don’t like to be filmed doing your jobs then maybe you should be organized criminals in the private sector. Get you house in order!
