We have two children that attend Hawk Elementary, in fact we moved from our previous neighborhood to Oakmont because of all the nice things we heard about the teachers. It was a move well worth it! Hawk has a great staff, the teachers and principals are very patient and caring for their students. Our kids just love it here and are always smiling when they get home. The school is always clean and organized and everyone really pitches in on keeping it a safe and positive environment for the kiddoes. Thank you teachers and staff of Hawk, we greatly appreciate all you do for our kids and community!
My son goes to school here and they really seem to care about the kids' education. They have a large playground and a very open airy feeling within the school.nnI'm not quite sure about the grading system. They don't score on a traditional system, but on a score of 1, 2, or 3, based on progress. They also don't seem to have much homework for the kids that get good scores (I know I know, we all hated homework as kids and if you were smart you probably didn't feel like you should have to do it). This is his first year in the school so we'll see how things go as time goes on.
