Frankly, the Thermax carpet cleaning machine beats the Rug Doctor machine hands down! While Rug Doctors are compact in terms of their machinery, they cannot get close to the power and easy use of Thermax carpet cleaners.nnThe design of these reminds me of the pull-behind type canister vacs with detachable hose and suction head. Thermax handles remind me of what Stanley Steamer uses. Thermax machines have pull-behind, rectangular bodies (that house the tanks and motor) on wheels for easy navigation, and they use two detachable hoses that connect to a lightweight, extended spray-and-vac handle. The handle is somewhat like a household upright vacuum cleaner, minus the added weight of a motor and the bulky mess of a vac bag full of suctioned mess.nnThermax machines allow for spraying more heated cleaning solution (or plain water), and the handle simultaneously extracts dirt and solution from the carpet. Thermax machines are special because they have heating tanks to keep cleaning solutions hot and at-the-ready. Plus, you aren't forced to carry both the weights of cleaning solution and dirty, suctioned solution on-board (on the handle), so cleaning carpet is easier and less back-braking with the Thermax. After an hour's use, the Thermax machine does not cause my bach to ache like that darned pull-as-you-go Rug Doctor.nnPurchase Thermax cleaning chemicals at Holiday Cleaners for use in these machines, or use plain hot water to extract dirt from padding and carpets alike.nnSelect locations of the family owned and operated Holiday Cleaners also rent Thermax upholstery cleaning attachments to use with Thermax machines for an additional rental fee.
