This is a great way to step back in time. The whole town is locked in the past. The $5 admission covers all of the buildings. You can easily spend several hours there and come back another day and see things you missed.
Soooo many fun things to look at! If you love antiques and things of old, you'll love the town of Granville and the Granville Museum.
This is a beautiful museum, rich with history. Most of the locals have photos of their own family up there, and there is a real sense of community within these walls.nI would HIGHLY recommend stopping by this museum if you are in the area.
The museum is full of local history. Many people have donated family heirlooms to add to the museum collection. The museum is full of interesting items from the late 1800s in the early 1900s And would truly be enjoyed by anyone interested in history.nnAfter my 1pm tour of the homestead and village, which lasted almost two hours due to the care our guides put into our tour, we went to the dairy, the barber/post master, and finally to the museum. We were there on a weekday and they closed at 3pm, but at 2:45, the volunteer turned off the lights with no announcement or warning and informed us the museum was closed. Confused, I checked my watch and confirmed if they closed at 2:45??! She said 3pm but then informed me they were now closed for the day, so our visit their was cut short-I was disappointed at how we were treated because I came from 3 hrs away and could not finish in the military room since the lights were turned off a little early. Perhaps she had other priorities for the day but was still disappointed that there was no alert to wrap up my tour at at earlier time or move at a faster pace.....otherwise interesting for learning Granville local history.
Great place to go and relax at the Bed and Breakfast there :)nOle Time Music Hour is always fun on a Saturday Night :)
