Looks like a really interesting place. However, we drove all the way there on a Tuesday only to see that the sign says they're only open Thursday-Saturday 10-4. I hope to get back there soon because it seems rich in history.
Mrs Joyce and Mrs Cora are excellent. They give a great tour and are very knowledge. They make you feel like real family.
Got there a week before they close for the year. Great little place that has a collection of artifacts. Each room is a different era. The lady that was there was highly knowledgeable and helpful. There are some interesting parts including graffiti made by some of the original prisoners that were kept there. There are also the records of those that were arrested and housed there including their charges all in hand written ledgers. All in all a quaint little museum to visit.
Lots of history good people lots to see a great place
This business seems to be struggling, but out of curiousity we stopped in one day. I've lived in the area my entire life, yet I had never visited the museum. For such a small space, we voluntarily spent hours there. We were fascinated by the history. Having my grandmother join us only added to the entertainment as she could reminisce on many things. The tour guide was an older lady who rarely saw visitors. She was honest with us about the rocky state of the museum. I sincerely hope that this doesn't get her into any trouble because she was the most welcoming, warm person I had ever met. No one else in the world would have been better suited for the job. She knew absolutely everything. We could point out any picture or object and she would give us the detailed history of anything at all with a level of enthusiasm that remains unmatched. This was a wonderful trip that I will cherish forever and I hope you do the same. Hurry! Before it's too late.
