Mary Blount Elementary School

If I could put no stars I would. This school should be fixed! My son got bullied and picked on by other kids and teachers. The principal is a joke! Mr big guy that is disrespectful to women! The school district is set up by the Crabtree family so if you need help you won’t get it if it’s about a Crabtree! Worst school ever!

Doesn't have a very good teaching and education system, lacking many things that are important in a child's education.

Teaching responsibility is lacking , students are babysat instead of taught how to become a member of society with goals and dreams . We have a school system that instead picks at the parents for needless things and information when they can't even spell ...Not only that but also our children fail to meet the standards and the teaching is more or less something dictated by a few idealistic click of teacher that find themselves in a position of power or popularity of how they use to be ....I find that this school doesn't help students function in a civilized society and that violation in bias of religion and or personal belief is by far the worse I've seen . And even if they say they are trying to be fair they really don't respect or care how the child's family feels about some made up school policy they give a few parents over bias behavior on the teachers behalf very concerning to see ..Btw calling parents because you don't make it clear you have authority and send them to in school suspension instead of calling the parents asking to take them home . We all have jobs and that is a risk most people can't afford in this now defamed society . I can only do so much . That's what school is for to learn and respect another and respect authority . I do what I can as a parent at home but if he or she isn't acting out at home but is at school ....Well maybe you didn't listen enough to my child's needs ...................................If anyone can I would go to Powell elementary school in Powell TN over Mary Blount , they are great for kids with special needs and they have dedicated teachers willing to help every student the see in there class succeed . Indeed Powell and all its schools with the same name are one of East TN best family oriented schools I've experienced.

I have so many complaints of violations and crude and unsafe conditions. The principle told Me( a disabled person) I could use the easier route to stand and pick up my child. The handicap accesabilty is a joke. No safe way to drive to handicap parking other than driving wrong way thru road and into parking lot. No on is recognized when signing into school. The first day i went there i walked in no one around. Went to office and wasnt even acknowledged. She pointed to the sign in sheet. Didnt ask me what i needed . she didnt even look at me. I could have been a shooter.The principle offered no empathy or willingness to try find a common ground or solutions or options. No. It's Follow rules like everyone. As another person NOT DISABLED was doing the same thing. But that was Ok and worked out with the principle. I am so disappointed in this school and the whole public system and politics. I am not able to send to private school or homeschool. Very disappointed w the quality of people that run the school and others who are not looking out for the safety and personal growth of a student.
