If you're looking to authentic Southern fried seafood, this is THE BEST place I have ever eaten it. Whether it's catfish (bone-in or boneless), flounder, gator, frog legs, scallops, oysters, or shrimp everything has a thin layer of batter and is fried to perfection. Low country boil is perfect. Land lover options (chicken tenders, burger, etc.) are excellent as well. Grits and hush puppies are complimentary, and the grits are the best I've ever had...they need nothing added! I grew up in East Texas and when my dad visits, this is a MUST for him. Fantastic staff too! Thank you!
Have not been in a long time but the food is so worth it. Only reason not 5 star is the 2 hour wait. We did call the day before to give a heads up even though they don't take reservations. Outside Temps were in the 30's and it was too packed to go in a warm up by the fire. Love the unlimited grits and hush puppies and the servers bring them to you. We never ran out of drinks and food came out fast. Already planning our next trip.
Had the choice of 3 combination plate and picked fried shrimp, fried gator bites, and broiled flounder. The shrimp and gator bites were both good but the broiled flounder had a strange taste. Not sure if it was freezer burn, or a metallic transfer from the pan used to cook it, or bad spices...would not recommend the broiled flounder. Prices were higher than I was expecting but portion sizes were pretty good considering. Plan to try the catfish stew and some other dishes next time I go. Overall, it was worth the wait and cost.
The same place I remember for a long as I can remember. Southern charm and lots of fried seafood. My palette has changed a bit so 4 stars instead of 5, mainly because in just not a huge fan a fried anymore. Staff was friendly and for those concerned with social distancing, they have adjusted the tables and the waiting area to follow the guidelines. Still recommend everyone try eating here at least once to see for yourself if you like it.
Always delicious
