I've always enjoyed my visits to both museums, but especially the Natural Science one. The amount of detail that goes into the displays is incredible, along with the programs and staff. This was the first real time I brought my son (2 years old) and he LOVED it! We went through everything twice and he was amazed every time. Very good atmosphere for teaching and learning our state and just general science subjects/topics. I will be coming here every few months for now to help engage my family's minds, along with mine. Highly recommend this museum to anyone who needs a nice day off, especially if you have kids or just want to learn something; no matter what age you are. My name is Austin Cross and I love my NC museums!

Free admission, but donations are accepted. Nice and organized so your family knows where to walk and helps with spacing. My boys are 10 and 13 and were bored pretty quick. We enjoyed the dinosaur and whale exhibits but after that, not much caught their attention. There was a 45 minute wait to get in due to Covid. The wait is outside in the sun with no seating so be prepared! Staff was super friendly and helpful!

I was so disgusted to see how many live wild animals on display here in tiny glass cages. I didn’t expect to walk into a poorly run zoo. This is such a disgrace for a museum that is promoting the importance of biodiversity and how critical each species is to our entire ecosystem, to keep live animals out of their natural habitat and like prisoners on display. There are more intelligent and humane alternatives to showcase wildlife such as statues, photography, 3D imagery, etc. Let’s do better at respecting the natural world!!!

Yes, it is 100% free to enjoy this amazing place. This was our first time going and I'm sure we will go back. Lots of hand sanitizer stations everywhere for those wondering. There's some areas that are closed, like the touch exhibits. But most of it is open! Our kids ranged from 6-17 and everyone had a good time. Lots of interesting things and tons to learn. Highly recommend a visit for familes or even just adults looking to try something new!

Good selection of displays/exhibits. Hand sanitizer stations everywhere, very organized flow so you don't miss exhibits and social distance. Multiple bathrooms on every floor are great so its not crowded. To bad the gift shop was closed. would have loved to buy souvenirs.
