Very interesting place. I was greeting by the volunteer attendant who happened to be a lifelong resident of the town of Sanford (he was in his 70's).nnA few years back a pickup truck found its way inside the building. It's seems that the unholy mix of intoxicating spirits and a steering wheel were to blame.nnIn the process, a precious antique organ was smashed. Amazingly, friends and patrons of the museum were able bring it back from the dead. It now proudly sits in the front room in all its glory (and still plays beautifully, from what I was told).nnThere are plenty of other curious and fascinating historical artifacts to see.nnI would say it's definitely worth the stop, and best of all, free admission.
