Cleaners

I’ve previously used Hallmark Cleaners for a few years, and they were usually pretty good. However, with my more expensive items, I’ve been looking for an option that I think may take better care of my higher end items, so I was going to try them out with something to see how they did and then switch to them permanently. I was recommended by a local store to use this place, and I regret I ever did.nI had a pair of very lightly worn and near mint condition Ralph Lauren Purple Label olive colored jeans that I brought to them, as the care label advised it was dry clean only. They were several hundred dollars and had never been washed or dry cleaned before this. There were no stains or damaged areas when I brought it to them.nSadly, that was not the case when I picked it up. There are a few spots on the pants in a couple shades of a brownish, reddish, orangish rust that weren’t there before. Naturally, I was very upset, so I walked back inside and showed them.nAn owner took at look at them that night or the next morning, and I spoke with him on what he was going to do to attempt the repair.nAfter I picked them up, it wasn’t really any better, and no recourse was offered as they claimed they’re entirely not liable for damages incurred “by following the directions on the tag.” Something, perhaps the glaring stains or color removed only in certain areas, tells me that they directions weren’t followed as well as they could’ve been. Not even a refund out of goodwill was extended.nThey advised that I take it up with the store I got it from. I can’t recall where I got them 2 years ago, but I doubt Saks or whoever would do anything for me, and why would they.nI’d rather take my chances with an at-home dry cleaning kit or just washing a garment before I take a risk on them again.nI do not recommend The Cleaners after this experience; it was a bad introduction, and I will not repeat the mistake of visiting.

Was only in town for a day and they were able to get a pretty big heap of my junk looking tidy. I'm 10x handsomer now.
