Branson Police Department

I had a phone that we thought was stolen and it tracked to a undeveloped neighborhood. The grass and weeds were very overgrown and officer Mike offered to go and check it out and also to go back in the fall and check again. Come to find out the tracker was way off and we found it at a place we’re were at earlier in the week. All offices were very helpful and so friendly. My kids got stickers and to got to see a cop car. I can’t say enough how happy I was with the department and Officer Mike.

Police were chasing a guy in a car. They pulled into our subdivision. The guy got out of his car and started to run around to get away. Within minutes the Branson Police caught the guy and had him custody.nnWay to go BPD. Thank you for keeping us safe.

Was told to leave an accident site by one of the 4 officers after info obtained and car towed. Received a call about 40 minutes later fromnAn officer telling me to immediately returnnBecause they weren't through with me. When my son (who had come to get me) told them we were a distance away and it would be about 30-40 minutes before we could return the officer became extremely disgruntled and told my sonnNo one had released me. My son described the officer that had and my daughter in law substantiated my son. The officer argued and told us to meet him at the police station as soon as possible.nWhen I returned to the station I was left to wait and when the officer came out he proceeded to treat me in an accusatory manner and then told me if I didnt respond or take care of the ticket I would go to jail. Then I was dismissed.nMeanwhile my son and daughter in law had let me out at the curb and were waiting there because they had no idea how long I would be. I am disabled and unable to walk or stand for any length of time. One of the officers came and told them to move immediately extremely rudely, waving his hands and yelling and refused to listen why they were there when he could clearly see inside the bldg where I was with the other officer.nThis experience has left quite a negative impression with me and I have no intention of returning to Branson. I've told my family & friends that I will gladly volunteer my car and gas for a trip to Osage Beach instead of Branson. If their police dept is an example of tourist treatment then I will spend my money elsewhere!

I was illegally searched, detained, treated like a criminal and lied to by Officer Yarnell about 10 years ago. I was walking down the street with headphones in and his car pulled in front of me and he was screaming at me telling me I just broke into a local business. I didn’t and I told him I didn’t. He charged me with ‘interfering with a city official’ because I didn’t let him look through my phone. Though, he put me in his squad car and looked through my phone anyway. He put me in county jail for exactly 24 hours (most likely because I smarted off in response to his rediculous attitude - because I knew I had done nothing wrong.) I pled not guilty and he didn’t go to 3 court dates in a row. The judge finally threw out the case. I have never had a criminal record or committed a crime. I am still blown away at how he treated me. It has affected my view of police officers ever since. If I knew what I do today I would’ve sued. Hopefully Officer Yarnell is no longer with the Branson PD, for the sake of Branson’s citizens.
