Personally, I had a poor experience. When I had a wellness check, I had spoken to a psychologist and was cleared, however, I was still taken to the hospital and kept there for maybe 5 hours. I had not done anything to harm myself or others. From Waldorf, I was taken in handcuffs to La Plata in the back of police car. I felt immense amounts of shame, anxiety, and would not want this experience for anyone in an unstable mental condition. This was back in November, but I am still traumatized by what had to happen that night. I just wanted to be okay, however, I ended I ended up feeling more guilt and anxiety than ever. Once I spoke to the second clinical psychologist at the hospital, he told my mother that he did not understand why I was even there in the first place.

Called to report a crime and they threatened to take me to jail.

The Charles County Police Force, in my opinion, is the worst in the region. It is made up of Overzealous, aggressive Police. They are rude, and unprofessional. There are many people that stay away from the county, due to a fear of being harassed. I think that Economically the County will soon begin to feel the strain, as word spreads of the horrendous treatment, that is perpetrated by the Police Force. I have not only heard, but been a victim of their tactics. I am a 55 year old woman, and I remember what good Police were like, and they are absolutely the worst. Police of the past used to care about the community, in which they patrolled. All the Police in Charles county seem to care about, is ridding the County of young Black men.
