BREC Magnolia Mound Plantation

We accidentally went on a first Sunday which was great since our guided tour was free. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and a great story teller. She shared information about the house and family but also historical information about the area.nnThey were also doing a cooking demonstration that was very interesting in the outdoor kitchen.nnIt's a very interesting tour and beautiful property if you have a free hour while in Baton Rouge. It doesn't take long to see but is worth a visit.

We had a great experience! The tour was educational and fun too. The grounds are beautiful! We had to wait for the next tour so we entertained the kids with bubbles.

Phenomenal education experience. As an avid fan of historic sites it is rare that I get to see so many new and unique artifacts which I have never seen before.

Best, most informative plantation tour in the area!!! I cannot say enough positive things about our tour! The guide was so good at explaining every little thing and detail down to the wallpaper in each room! For a small house I feel I now know all the history behind every part of the plantation grounds. Definitely worth the time to stop here and do the tour!!!

Beautiful piece of history. We did a self guided tour so we didn't get to go into the main house but there are plenty of other things to explore.
