LSU Museum of Natural Science

A very small but diverse museum located on the LSU campus. It focused mostly on animals but there was a small section devoted to rocks and fossils. The animal collection was extensive from giant polar bears to a large bird collection. My favorite was the insect collection at the entrance.

Pretty cool for a small museum to check out when you gotta kill time and it's free!

If you've never been - then you don't know what you're missing. There is a LOT going on here, tons of exhibits and very knowledgeable staff.nnIf you see an event going on here - go to at least one - I've never been disappointed.nnValerie and Tammy are the ladies I normally interact with - and they are both wonderful and knowledgeable and very helpful!

Visited it whilst in the state for a wedding. The variety of exhibits is interesting and educational, but I feel that having 80% of the huge, boasted collection be a single insect display is cheating slightly. The staff were friendly and helpful but were hesitant to share the visitors WiFi access, which made hiring an Uber home slightly difficult.

You can see several extinct species in this nice bird collection.
