Dekalb County Police Services Department

Was pulled over for a minor traffic infraction and the officer I encountered was extremely disrespectful and rude for no reason whatsoever. Yes, I broke a law, and I understand that breaking rules of the road is dangerous and life threatening but this was at a time of night when absolutely nobody was on this particular road. Of course it is not an excuse, just context. I understand that a law was broken and that officers do not know what to expect when walking up to your car but the way I was spoken down to was completely unnecessary. Especially when I pulled over immediately and safely, at the safest well lit place (for mine and the officer's safety), responded calmly and respectfully and willingly admitted my fault. You cannot expect the public to treat you with respect when you treat the public like trash. Unfortunately, I will have most definitely re-evaluated my opinion on a majority of police officers after this encounter. Obviously, it is a double standard, in that you cannot trust all cops because of the few bad apples and cops cannot trust all people for the same reasons, however, it is not difficult to judge the character of a person within your first minute speaking to them, especially if you have experience and proper training. Therefore, if somebody is nice and cooperative, don't be jerk. It is absolutely possible to control a situation without being arrogant. Also, don't be a cop if you can't let your personal issues and superiority complexes taint your sworn duty. While my particular incident was on a MUCH smaller scale, the attitude of this officer is exactly why our American society has the issues it does these days. Do what you will. :)

I waited for two and a half hour for a police man to come out. Thank goodness it wasn’t an emergency I can’t imagine if it was a life threatening situation. Shame on you.

called to be added to a police report since I wasn't at the time of the accident. When I got a hold of the first operator I expected to be transferred because I knew I couldn't be added that easily which wasn't a problem. I then called the next department I was instructed to call. Asked what I needed to do in order to be added to the report and was told again it was not the right department and needed to call another department. no big deal. this is when the problems started happening, upon calling the third department I was told they again could not help and cut me off several times with a very bad attitude when I was simply trying to find answers and help with my friends case. I know why they can't help I was just wanting to speak to whomever could help even if it was leaving a message for the right person but no one wanted to take a message they just kept handing me off to someone else. I called back into the south precinct because those were the instructions given and upon asking to file a complaint I immediately received an attitude from the operator. I have family in Law enforcement and understand how stressful the job is but it seems no one is sure what they are doing here and no one wants to help.

My daughter was killed 6/26/19. I have called the lead Detective and haven't got it answer to any phone calls. I haven't got any call backs. I haven't got any information on what happened haven't been questioned about anyting have to check the word of all the people that was around which was the murder of family. Haven't got any of my daughter with belongings such as her phone. I have never got any help from any of DeKalb County police officers. I don't know who was there here to protect and serve.

This police department is utter trash I reported on so many occasions of these 3 black teenagers literally lightning fireworks at a gas station ... and no not a fire cracker you send in the air they’re popping them at one another and on the ground. Nobody ever comes they do whatever they want on central dr it’s sad
