The Funk Heritage Center is incredible! This museum does such a great job of connecting people with the history of the land and the native people here in the Southeast. Their collection of Native American Art is definitely something to see, and the Cherokee village is so neat!
Loads of informations and very knowledgeable staff. Sadly, there is no mention of the impact from the revolutionary war and the outcome between the British and certain tribes. This piece of history should be added to the museum, as there is really only one side of the story being told. Still, I had a great experience and I look forward to seeing some of the exhibits and information updated. Thank you to the staff who took over an hour of their day to discuss and chat certain topics and views regarding what occured during, before and after the trail of tears. Very educational.
Very nice people work there...nDon't leave without going to see the small pioneer settlement behind the museum in the woods in the back :)
Wonderful tool collection
Exhibits are nice and the acting was fun but the insanity of having too many schools attend can be very distracting.nnIt’s also fairly expensive and kind of a far drive. We got all the sites visited before lunch time.nnThe actors were well dressed and provided a lot of information but the kids all informed me after it was boring.
