Woodlands Elementary School

I haven’t been to this school in 3 years but during my time there (Kindergarten through 5th grade) I can say that it was a good school. I have lots of good memories there.

My kids are learning a lot of things they tell me they have the best teachers ever

My child attended Woodlands elementary for 3 years and it was the worst 3 years we have ever experienced in a school setting. A lot of the staff at this school is very rude and unprofessional especially the office lady up front. She screams at children and is extremely rude to all. My child has endured endless bullying; from kids grabbing scissors and saying I'm going to stab you, throw you in the trash can, etc. My child once fell off their bike and was ran over on the arm by a child that was bullying them and was told to suck his (inappropriate language.) The physical education staff takes the kids out for PE for a short amount of time each day and allows them to listen to inappropriate music with swear words and violent suggestions. They hardly do any exercises, rather they just walk around, kick a ball, or play lacrosse. Recess is literally about 5 mins long as it's been cut dramatically and if one child in the class is misbehaving, all children in the class sacrifice time at recess for it. Everything is about FSA and not enough personal time invested into each student and their individual needs. When my child started here, the school was rated a 9/10. I thought with such great ratings, it would be a great school. I'm not sure what is going on with this school but it is terrible. My child would come home each day crying and saying how much they hate it and even expressed some concerning feelings in regards to the constant bullying. I do not recommend this school at all. It is well kept and I think that's probably where the money goes as I haven't noticed it benefiting the children or learning at all. Last year, there was a little girl walking home and she was almost taken by a predator and we parents found out about it 3 days later on the news. The school did not contact us until the news broke and only then did they send an email saying since this was on the news, we wanted to let you know. I do not recommend this school what so ever. If you are zoned for this school, I suggest finding out if you can do some kind of choice school to where you can go outside of your zoning.
