The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about segregation in St. Pete back in day. She schooled us on a lot of interesting facts about Luis Armstrong, Mr Woodson, and others. Lots of memorable photos of prominent Africian Americans on the wall. Beautiful Legacy Garden in the back which has it's own history.

It was closed when I went today. BUT !!! I HAD to go as saw online in some random news about the Street Mural right out in front !! Street closed to vehicular traffic until Tuesday, 9-8. So I Ran over in between Thunderstorms Monday ! Absolutely Worth that Trip !!

What a great experience fortunately we were able to take the trolley tour and understand more of the black experience in St Petersburg through out the years. And then we stopped into the museum and saw some wonderful paintings from The Highwaymen which were on display at this time. Everyone was so warm and friendly. then one of the great treats of the year I am sure was to go out into the gardens. I have been to many botanical gardens. These were the most beautiful I have ever seen. I encourage anyone to go to the museum and take a walk through the gardens. Absolutely a treat that you will not forget

My wife and I really enjoyed the Collard Green Festival and my wife meeting and getting a cookbook signed by Toni Tipton
