An excellent little gem of a museum perfectly suited to Gulfport! It hosts a wonderfully colorful exhibition of vintage textiles, mainly from Nepal and surrounding Asian countries. Mike is extremely knowledgeable about his collection and is full of amazing anecdotal stories about the textiles and his travel adventures to find them. This would be a fantastic field-trip for any classes studying textiles, cultural anthropology and/or Asian art/history.nThe back part of the museum houses an unbelievable collection of men’s vintage clothing! It’s like strolling through the American fashion history for the past 90 years. Mike has all of the clothing priced very reasonable. Over all, it is well worth a visit for residents and visitors alike. Even though it is a little off of the route, it should be added to the Gulfport Art Walk!

I really enjoyed this little gem of history. I never had the chance to travel to Tibet or Nepal so it was pretty amazing to see their beautiful textiles and treasures in a neat storefront in Gulfport. On top of it the owner, Michael, has collected these through each of his journeys. He even has quite the extensive collection of vintage clothing for sale. Give him a call and make a time to check out some history!

This was a neat lil museum! Lots of authentic textiles and unique finds from Mike’s travels. If you’re interested in Tibet, Buddhism, textiles or far Eastern culture, be sure to check it out.
