Never enough employees to help

So I entered the store today at approx 4:00pm through the Pro entrance (where you buy wood products) and noticed many people waiting in line, estimating about 12-15 people. Then I proceed to the area that has salt (for my water softener system) which takes me past the main cash register area where there are about 20-25 people waiting to check out. I don’t think I’ve seen this store this busy. So I lugged four 50 pound bags of salt on to my cart and proceed to the garden center. When I step up to the register, two clerks are locking the exit gate and I ask them if the register is open and the one guy says no. He proceeded to tell me that they were short on cashiers. In the meantime I see various blue vested associates walking around the store. So I told the fella that I would go across the street to Home Depot and give them my business. I realize that the loss of my little $40 purchase was probably not a big deal to them. But I can tell you that I’ve lived in this area since 2002 and have probably spent thousands of dollars at this store, including two sets of washers and dryers. This will be my last purchase at this store. In fact, I think I will cut up my Lowes credit card and close the account. I absolutely refuse to spend my hard earned money at a store that doesn’t seem to care about losing a customer. Note to the manager, maybe you should consider cross training your associates so that they can help out when you’re short on cashiers.

Shopping for LED track lights and employee really went out of his was to help. Lights are installed and looking great!
