7/31/20nOfficer Connel pulled me and my boyfriend over on our way home from vacation due to our temp tag falling off the window in my new suv. He was exceptionally kind and tried to helped us get it back in the window. He let us go and told us to make sure it was visible cause he wanted us to get home without being pulled over again. When we merged back onto the interstate he blocked the entire right lane of traffic for us to get safely back onto the road. We then watched him pull back on the interstate a few minutes later to help a car that was broken down. My boyfriends brother is a police officer back home and we are well aware of all the hatred currently pointed at officers so we really just wanted to extend our appreciation to the Florida Highway Patrol for going above and beyond and genuinely caring about the well being of their states inhabitants.

On July 8, 2020 at aproximately 11:35am, my husband and I were traveling on Interstate 10 westbound in the Florida panhandle when we had a tire blowout (left rear) on our travel trailer which also caused some damage to the panel of the RV. We managed to pull off the highway on a narrow shoulder with a sloped drop-off and overgrown grass making it difficult to safely distance our vehicles from the busy interstate. It was quite scary to have semi trucks and cars flying past us going 70-80 mph (or more!).nnWe have AAA but when I called the emergency roadside assistance number, they told me they didn't have anyone that could come help us. (what???). After waiting in the hot sun, we finally called the FLDOT hotline for the Road Rangers. They answered right away and said they would send either a Ranger or a Highway Patrolman. All we needed was help in changing the tire on the travel trailer (i.e. jacking up the trailer & providing protection from the traffic speeding by). We had a spare. Within 15 mins the Florida Highway Patrol arrived. His patrol car behind us helped keep my husband safe while he tried to get the tire changed. The officers name was Hardy and he provided some tools, help, and even a little shade with an umbrella (it's was an unusually hot day in Florida!). We really appreciated Officer Hardy that day and the prompt response. Thank you so much for ALL you do!

I was first on scene of a fatal vehicle v/s pedestrian at Ne 7th st and Baseline. FHP Officer was second on scene. I was already working on the patient upon his arrival, we spoke for a brief second as I gave him condition of pt. He ran and grabbed his med bag from his car and brought it to me to further treat the pt. I truly appreciate this young Trooper in how he handled the situation and work with those of us working on the pt. FHP is lucky to have him. Thank you for all you do.
