Strange, but interesting museum in a beautiful little town! We enjoyed our visit and the nice lady who greeted us. The Portal 31 coal mine tour 3 miles away was really interesting too.
This is a must visit! The exhibit was amazing. Everything was well kept and easy to understand.

Had a good time here. Cheap admission. Nice ladies working there. Spent about 1 1/2 hours there. Enjoyed seeing and learning all about coal mining
If you are into history and seeing how people lived this is for you. Four floors of coal mining life set up as the coal mining families would have lived in the early 1900. Basement has a mock coal mine to stoop through. Very cool place to understand what coal miners have had to go through.
