Both my children attend this amazing school. My 3 year old daughter is in a specialized program for speech delay, she is blossoming with her great teachers. Best experience for us.
Nice school. For my son his 2nd grade teacher was a real blessing.nMs. Curtis is a very dedicated, diligent and hardworking teacher who takes pride in her job. Thank you very much Ms. Curtis !!!
The school was welcoming and accommodating to our kids specific needs. The office staff is on pointe and runs a tight ship, I've appreciated there attentive service and assistance on multiple occasions.
As a current student of this school, that is leaving in a few weeks, I've got to say that the years of my life in which I spent at this school were quite great. The teachers that I had throughout the years taught me valuable information, not only about subjects that we required to learn, but things I am sure I will need to succeed in the future. I will say that I'll miss this school.nHowever, to every school, even the best of the best, there are some flaws. For example, our bathrooms may tend to be a bit dirty at times. Of course this would have to vary, depending on which bathroom. But, specifically, the bathroom near the cafeteria is one of the worst. It isn't the cleanest, nor the dirtiest. It just needs a bit of work, as most schools may struggle to keep their bathrooms clean. In my experience as a student for nearly six years at this school, the bathroom near the courts would have to be one of the worst school bathrooms I've ever stepped foot in. It smells foul, quite dirty, disgusting, and filled with invasive creatures that somehow found their way inside. Students' fecal matter has been left 'not flushed' in the toilets, as well as other things being stuffed in the useful thing. It's understandable for this to happen, yet something needs needs to be done, especially for the sake of the students. I believe if the school were to put up more relevant rules about the bathrooms themselves, then maybe the students would consider listen to them. This may even cause the bathrooms to be much cleaner than they are now. All of the other bathrooms, as far as I know, are very clean, especially the ones in the classrooms.nMoving on, the people that may help us if we simply raise our hand in the cafeteria may not come to our aid as soon as possible. For instance, they may stand there will a child's hand is raised for minutes at most. I know kids that just don't see the point in raising their hands for help if they're not going to receive it as soon as they may need it. (This would include my friend and I.) But there are some great people that actually do do their jobs, and there are only a couple that may just having a conversation rather than helping a student.nIn addition, my current classroom consists of two teachers, about forty-four students, and not a lot of space. Considering we're located in a room that was previously a 'staff-training' room, wouldn't you think that it was at least a bit spacious? Our classroom also gets very little air conditioning without the 'miracle machine' (what I like to call it) that cools us all down. But not just that. Our class didn't have an intercom. After the recent tragedy that occurred, parents were fighting to get the intercom installed; someone even offered to pay for the installation. We now have the intercom in our room.nAfter reading this, which you most likely haven't or will attempt to, you probably predict that this is a review to call-out the school. But that isn't really the case. It's a very educational school where students can learn and even have fun while doing so. I just simply wanted to point out some of the minor things that, in my opinion, should change.nThe teachers and staff here are superb! I would like to say that all of my teachers here have been spectacular and have also helped my to succeed, especially because I'm soon to be graduating fro the school. These teachers would be all the teachers that I've had from here; especially my two teachers this school year; Mrs. Netburn and Ms. Heffernan [I apologize if I spelled your last name wrong]. There are also other teachers that have helped in me in some sort of way, like Mrs. Vignola. She is the coach of our own debate club. Our coach not only shaped us all in the club to be ourselves to fight for what we believed in, she taught us all things that we will use in the near future. Our principal is quite grand as well; no other principal, in my years of going here, has ever done things that he has done. He does in fact strive to make our school a better place.n. . .n[to be continued]
This is an excellent school. However, I say this with the caveat that the administration becomes far less responsive when you encounter a problem. If you have an issue or concern, be prepared to leave several unreturned messages for the principal, Mrs. Rashid. Also be prepared to be plied with excuses if an immediate solution to your issue isn't readily available. Be ready to be wholly ignored with the hope that you will eventually go away. I gave the school a 4 star rating because I have had two very bipolar experiences with the school and didn't want to condemn them entirely based on the not so good experience. On the one hand, my experience has been phenomenal but, on the other, it has been very frustrating, to say the least. If your child is well-behaved and is a good student, you will love the school. I've absolutely loved 3 out of the 4 teachers my kids have had thus far. If, however, your child will require any kind of special attention or you are in any way dissatisfied with your child's teacher, bring your patience. You're going to need it!
