Beautiful scenery at high altitudes. Visited in the off season. So, hiked in and there were no tours going on. Check with the Cumberland Gap national park for access. There is a trail in. But, the drivable path is gated.
Beautiful, and peaceful place. This is God's country.
Truly an amazing place, winter, spring, summer or fall.
I have been here four times, twice hiked through Chadwell gap trail, twice with park rangers guided tour. In my opinion, this is a hideout heaven. The scene here in winter, spring and summer are all beautiful and special. I plan to go back again in fall. The trail is quite difficult but really worthy. The park ranger guided tour is easy for people who do not want to hike almost 10 miles round trip, but the time up there is not as free as hiking.
Great place to learn history of how people started the settlements in the 1800's
