Virginia Museum of History & Culture

This museum had a great set up with lots to learn. I really enjoyed it. If you are in Richmond, I would check it out. Also, remember to bring cash to leave a donation so they can keep adding on to these exhibits.

An interesting museum. If you are well traveled in Virginia, suddenly places you know will have new stories and history to them! During COVID, admission by ticket, only -- and on a Thursday, over 2 hours in the museum, we saw only one other visitor.

Newly reopened and with a fantastic exhibit, Mending Walls. Excellent protocols at every turn, felt very safe

I feel a little torn, I enjoyed the museum but I expect there to be more. A good exhibit on the lasting, personal impact of slavery and a walk through of Virginia's history we're the only things to see. They were both done well, but I was looking for more. Exhibits seem to skip forward a lot: i.e. Jamestown, Revolution, Civil War... With very little discussion about what happened in between. It's good, but I expected more -- most of the museum's space seems to be given to an event hall and library.
