This is one of my favorite places to visit. I took my 3 year old niece there for the first time this week. She enjoyed the sculpture garden. We did have lunch there at the cafe. It was a bit pricey but the food was good. Many diverse collections. I love the Tiffany lamps and Faberge eggs.

Update: Astounding display of ancient Egyptian treasures recovered from two sunken cities, with additional works of art that illustrate the blending of Grecian and Egyptian cultures BC. Children and adults of all ages will enjoy this spell-binding exhibit.nnTake advantage of this cultural jewel in downtown Richmond. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the gorgeous galleries and view centuries of paintings, sculptures, furniture, jewelry and more. The team members are extraordinarily helpful, adding to the enjoyment of this fine institution.

We love that it's free and so enriching. The grounds are beautiful as well. Not ideal for kids who can't help but touch things, since lots of the art is at kid-level and unprotected. I would have appreciated more signage directing the way to other exhibits, but other than that, it was a flawless experience.

One of the most beautiful art museums that I've ever visited. I can easily spend the whole day here. There are plenty of exhibits to visit and will take quite some time to get through if you're patient. I felt like it was never ending. I love the space and natural lighting that shines through during the day. It's quite and not as busy during the weekdays. If you like having personal space, I recommend going during the weekdays. The weekends are usually busy. The outside is also a beautiful space to hang out and work. The museum is beautiful inside out! Prior to calling it a day, I sat outside to enjoy some conversations and the weather. It was the perfect way to conclude a long day.

A great art museum to visit! They have everything from paintings and sculptures to pottery and molded silver (I'm not sure of the exact term). Their collection ranges in time periods from ancient Greece to modern day, with everything in between. General admission is free, with an entry fee for special exhibits. Without the special exhibits, that still leaves enough art to spend several days exploring and enjoying everything there is too see.nIf you live in Richmond and haven't been yet, I highly recommend you take a Saturday to stop by. With a collection as big and varied as this, there is bound to be something you will enjoy!
