This was such a neat little find! I've been wanting to visit for years and the experience lived up to every expectation I had. It's not too big so it doesn't get boring like other museums. The cats are also adorable, there are two of them and they are both very friendly and fluffy. Great place to stop by for an hour and the price points are also great. 10/10 would recommend!

It was very fun! I've always loved Poe's writing and it was neat to see all the things here. The audio tour is really nice, you get to hear about everything while looking around at your own speed. There's 2 black cats that live there, super sweet kitties. The garden area is nice and probably absolutely gorgeous during spring. Was a rainy day when we went and I think that gave the place even more of a nice Poe style atmosphere.

Beautiful small museum. A must go to place if you are a fan of Edgar Allan Poe. They have two kitties, one named Edgar and the other named Pluto. We meet Edgar and he was super friendly! Also we brought our kitten Pharaoh and the entire staff was amazing and happy to meet him. I won't post any interior photos but they have a lovely courtyard!

A nice museum to spend an hour or so with an impressive collection of things from E. A. Poe's life. None of the buildings directly related to his early life in Richmond are still standing, but the old stone house that is the oldest pre-Revolutionary War building in the city has a connection to Poe. Some of the lesser known details about his life, like who were his patrons and friends were interesting, with the museum collecting memorabilia related to it. The final gallery about his death was fascinating as it rules out in scientific detail some of the wilder theories about how he died. Strikes the right balance between eclectic, cozy and brevity. There is an audio tour you can listen to off their web site, so bring your headphones to listen on your mobile.

I had a tremendous time at The Poe Museum! It was a full indepth look at his life with artifacts from his childhood all the way to his death. I definitely was able to learn some more aspects of him that I had not known before! I highly recommend visiting the museum for anyone, whether you are a Poe fanatic or just someone interested in knowing a tad bit more about Poe. The price is a very fare price for all that can be seen throughout the museum!
