Bland County Sheriff's Office

Wish I could give this department negative reviews. You are issued citations for stuff that is not even posted. This department is money hungry so be careful! It’s a shame to consider a police department a business because this is one of them, all about making money!

I don't think I've ever been to Bland County, and after today's experience with one of your deputies I'm not sure I'd want to go. Seems someone forgot to tell this officer that a safe following distance at 70 plus miles an hour on an interstate isn't 5 feet. Then when I tried to slow to merge behind slower traffic to let him by he sped up nearly clipping the rear drivers side bumper of my car. All while driving a marked patrol SUV. Traffic when this happened was very heavy and had he caused an accident it very well could have been fatal for him, the person he was transporting or others around him, including me. I called and talked to someone at the sheriff's office about the incident and was told that he would have a talk to the two officers that he knew were on transport in that area. He took my number but I never received a follow up call. This kind of leaves me feeling like all I got was lip service for reporting a very serious reckless driving issue with one of the deputies from Bland County Virginia.nSo if your driving down the interstate an notice a Bland County Sheriff tailgating, be sure to give them a brake, they deserve it.
