Highbridge trail is fun for a family ride. There are a lot of options and gravel off of the trail for more adventure style rides
It's 31.5 miles of wonderfully gently graded trail that shows someone's constant attention to maintaining well. The vast majority is gravel, but a fine (small) size gravel, giving a smooth ride. My better-half and I stayed at an AirBnB in Prospect, Va., allowing a good ride in either direction on the trail. Farmville, Va is a small town, but is very charming where the trail passes through it. The High Bridge itself is surprisingly impressive.
Great place to spend time outside with lots of space and capture some history.
My favorite place to ride my bike and walk. No worries if you have kids that are learning ride. Old railroad line turned into a nice mostly flat straight riding/walking trail, no motorized vehicles allowed!ud83cudfc7ud83cudfc3ud83dudeb4ud83dude01
I love running here! Elevation is almost dead flat, the trail is well maintained with lots of shade and I haven't run across much other traffic on my runs.
