What a great stop, a literal stone's throw from the I-90 exit!nnA neat little prairie dog town in a compact well kept state park without any major facilities. On the other side of the interstate is a fishing pull off on the Yellowstone river with a clean outhouse.nnSo this makes a super place to blow some steam, to stretch legs, to learn about prairie dogs, and to be amused by these cute little creatures. We did quite a bit of giggling as we observed them playing.nnIt was an unexpected gem!
Just off the hwy a great spot to stop, stretch your legs and check out the prairie dogs. They are everywhere and chirp when you are walking or driving through. We stopped for an hour to stretch our legs, eat lunch, and observe these adorable little guys. A totally easy stop for a road trip. If I lived in the area, I would definitely visit more often. Free.
Wonderful experience...watching prairie dogs is always fun...love to listen to them chatter..and the information boards were very useful as well...I'm glad there is a place where their habitat can be persevered...
Fun picnic spot right off the freeway...with the antics of the prairie dogs thrown in...makes this a must-see.
Many prairie dogs are sleeping during the summer heat but others are waddling about and very fun to watch. Plump little things and a very educational spot right off i90.
