Chubbuck Police Department

Two days ago I was pulled over by a police SUV. The police officer was kind enough to inform me that my front head light was out. I truly appreciated his help and willingness to help me/ the public.

When a Chubbuck policeman stops you for a traffic violation watch how they hide their faces so you can't see or talk to them eye-to-eye. Quite unprofessional I believe. They won't even stand next to the window when they tell you to sign their citation....oops, I guess they don't want you to know who they are...???nnHave one of them explain why they don't enforce, or correct, the road paint west of Yellowstone on Chubbuck Road....There are two sets of double-yellow solid stripes representing a center divider. In all of their wisdom they have placed some two-way left turn arrows between those double lines...it would appear it is either legal, or illegal, to turn left through the divider at that point...anybody care to take a guess or should we just leave it up to the engineering department to explain how the whole thing works? If it is illegal, is the turn ever enforced? If it is illegal, or just an oversight of the paint crew...it should be one way or the other...or am I just another victim of the Chubbuck Police Department?

Someone saw my dog in my car window, but didn't know I was with the dog, so they reported it to dispatch. Instead of sending animal control they sent an officer who was super aggressive. He circled my car twice, knocked on my door and shined his flashlight in my face the entire time we were talking. He had equipment around his chest and belt like a soldier and immediately treated me like a criminal. I was seriously afraid he would shoot me. He was immediately accusative in his questioning. It's obvious that this officer does NOT have de-escalation training. As a citizen I should not be required to de-escalate the police. After explaining my reason for visiting the area he took my license, even though legally it wasn't required since I wasn't driving, and he already knew who I was by looking up my plates. He gave my license info to an officer over the walkie, which I thought was weird since they should be able to look it up on the computer in their car. I think this was an intimidation tactic, to stay with me and make sure I wouldn't run off.nnI'm a white female with no record, an upstanding citizen who always reports suspicious activity. One of my reports has even led to a DUI arrest. All this they can see when they look up my file and phone number. There was absolutely no reason for this officer to treat me the way he did. If you are a minority, black, Native American, Hispanic, etc... steer clear of chubbuck. These cops are half cocked and looking for any reason to 'take action'.
