Steamboat Mountain School

Steamboat Mountain School allows students to grow, develop and think independently. The staff are supportive, caring and deeply committed to the success of every student. The international travel component is unlike any high school program in the country. An amazing secure environment, an amazing education! My son loved his 3 years as a boarding student at SMS and graduated mature, prepared for college and life.

I'm disappointed in this program. I have both my boys signed up in ski school. One is 6 years old and just able to ski down from the top of the gondola drop off. The other is 4 years old and can't ski too well yet. The ski day ends at 3 PM. I wanted to take my 6 year old up the gondola and ski down with him but needed the ski school center to watch my 4 year old from 3-4 PM just 1 hour. They said they would watch him for an additional $149 fee on top of what I already paid for ski school. I asked to speak to the manager and offered to pay a reasonable fee for 1 hour like $30-$40 dollars or so but she also refused and said it would be $149! The manager and other staff were rude and smug about it and didn't try to help or offer any alternatives. I was dumbfounded and very disappointed. If this isn't theft then I don't know what is! $149 to watch my 4 year old for 1 hour even after he paid for a full priced weekly ski school lesson? That is horrible.

I had a fantastic four years, and would not give them up for anything. As time goes on, I realize more and more how much the school helped me grow to become who I am today.
