Lucky 8 Ranch

We absolutely loved our ride with Lucky 8 ranch. They really offer a unique experience bringing you up close to their Bison herd. The trail they ride is well groomed and offers stunning views from the mountain top. We rode with 3 different companies while we were in town and I will say that Lucky 8 has the nicest machines and highest safety standards. As a travel agent I am very picky about recommending tour providers and I would recommend them without hesitation.

I’ve never been snowmobiling before so I have no comparison, but we had a BLAST on our tour this weekend. The free shuttle from Steamboat was great. The guides were very patient and stopped to allow us to look at the wild life and take pictures. It was so fun and after the tour ended, we talked nonstop about how we can’t wait to do it again!

we did a snowmobiling tour of the ranch with Keith as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the local area and the Bison herd. Gave us some restaurant advice for Steamboat Springs. One of the best tours we have ever done. Phenomenal scenery and fresh snow all around.

We did a 2-hour Snowmobiling, Saturday March 6th, it was myself and 3 of my girlfriends. It was awesome! Seeing the Bison up close was unreal, and our tour director, Keith was awesome! He gave us so much great information on Steamboat, the trail, the animals, etc. And after we returned my friend realized she had lost her cell phone. He went back on the trail and found her cell phone and contacted us. That was above and beyond! I have raved to everyone the great customer service we received. Keith deserves a huge pat on the back for taking the time to look all over the ranch for the phone, then head back into the mountains! Thanks so much Keith! It was so appreciated! A total must do!!! We were with 2 families with 4 adults and 4 kids (5, 6, 7 and 9) and it was an absolutely amazing day. We were picked up by the free shuttle right at our hotel. It was on time, clean and the driver had a ton to offer. We got to the ranch and we were fitted with modern and clean equipment. We only needed helmets and goggles but they also had boots/jackets/etc for anyone who needs it. Once we were outfitted the kids got to meet some of the horses and alpacas and were loving it. We all got on our snowmobiles after reviewing safety measures and then took a trip around the test track. Once we were all comfortable we headed out on into the open. We saw AMAZING views, took tons of pictures, learned about the area and had a blast. After about an hour we headed to the ‘free drive’ in a 95 acre field. It was an amazing experience!! We then headed back to the ranch and paused in the herd of bison. Seeing them up so close was like nothing we’ve ever done. They were larger than life running through the snow SUPER close to the group. The kids have loved their time here but this is definitely the day they can’t stop talking about. If you get the chance to visit Lucky 8 do not miss it. The staff were amazing, the sleds were in perfect condition and the bison were unlike anything we’ve ever experienced.
