Had a wonderful time! I remember the park from the 1970s until it closed following the fire. Looking at the old rides, signage and assembled memorabilia brought back vivid memories. Hearing people older than I recall their experiences was delightful. I watched a mother trying to relate to her daughter about the park and her memories from when she was growing up.
EVERYTHING in this place is from Idora. All signs on wall-ceiling, the bus canopy, mirrors to disfigure your image, rides that they let you sit in and get a picture. They have jewelry for sale with original tickets or original paint chips from Idora in the beautiful glass pendant. (Wonderful gift). So neat. 5 dollars for adults. Well worth it. No air conditioning.
Really nice collection of artifacts from Idora Park. I went to the park many times when growing up. Visiting here brought back a lot of good memories, but it's amazing how much I also forgot. Very glad that what's left of the park is being preserved. A lot of what they have found for the collection needed major restoration. Really appreciate all the hard work that was done. Thank You !!
If you are one of the people that grew up during the Heyday of Idora Park then this collection of Idora items is great. There are a lot of good memories and I believe that the owners have done a tremendous job putting things together. They have accomplished a great deal with a lot of hard work. Maybe someday the city or county will recognize that this great Park should have a real Museum. I am not sure why Canfield will only let them open 2 days a year. Can you imagine only being able to show off all of these great items only twice a year. I understand that the location is in a real estate position. However the home and the barn are of good taste. I would suggest that anyone that was born in the 40s, 50s, 60's, 70's, would get behind the Idora
Fantastic place to recall memories. What a great collection of a wonderful place that no longer exist except in our hearts and minds
