Me and my husband have been visiting Buckley for a few years now and have always loved the walking trails. It's never overcrowded and typically a peaceful place to spend the afternoon. BUT when we went back on 06/07/2020 all of the walking trails were overgrown, poorly taken care of and some of the trails were almost unrecognizable. Not to mention we were both INFESTED with ticks! The ticks had to be because of all the overgrow around the walking trails. And I don't mean we had a tick or 2 on us by the time we left, no we were covered in the 30 min we were there. Instantly drove home when we noticed and pulled off about 20 ticks off the 2 of us. My pants had another 20 crawling out of them to the point that I just ended up throwing them away. I'm so glad I didn't take my dogs with us or they would have been covered as well. I have never seen this many ticks in my life! So beware if you, your family or if you take your pets out there. I'm not sure that we will be returning after this.

!Warning! This was a nice place for a short hike and the trails were well maintained and marked but we encountered lots of ticks. My friend found 9 ticks on herself and I found 4 on myself. I would reconsider going unless I had plenty of repellent and clothing covering all skin.

Beautiful place! Wear deet, the ticks were pretty bad. Can't wait to go back and explore some more.

Wonderful, a refuge not only for the wildlife, but also for you. No endless housing sprawl, traffic, noise, and asphalt. Don't get me wrong, I like living in Lexington; but access to this place is priceless. I couldn't stop watching the precious little creatures flitting about sipping water and looking for seeds. Good that it's a bit out of the way; I rather prefer it. Well done, Audubon!

Nice easy hiking trails that are good to bring kids along to. Make sure to check yourself for ticks when you're done!
