Millridge Elementary

Having three kids attending Millridge all once, I must say I'm very pleased with the experience we have from district thus far.

I’ll atart with that I was a mayfield student my whole childhood including millridge. Great experience at this school.nnI have a five year old who borders on special needs. The staff at millridge separated him out seven minutes into his first day. By the end of the second week they were threatening with suspension.nnWithin 90 days of being at mayfield WITH AN IEP they have suspended him four times and ultimately said if we don’t take him out they’ll expel him. Congratulations staff, expel a five year old. Maybe when you write “student does not understand” on the signature line of his suspension paperwork that should be a sign you’re not handling this correctly?nnIt took seven minutes for them to completely give up. They’ve since sent me five videos where I saw my son not being bad and the staff doing NOTHING to help him. All five times. I’ve displayed this to six professionals, all of which were appalled. When I brought their opinion to the principal I was told “well they aren’t in our group”.nnI’ve had poor experiences with the vice principal since day one. I tried to communicate these with the principal and he ultimately told me “you can just get out of here” because I mentioned it was unusual to have a teacher who isn’t a parent themselves. I even sent an email apologizing indicating that I meant no offense. No response back. Your welcome for being considerate.nnIt’s a shame. If your kid is perfect I guess mayfield is great. But anything shy of that and they’re inclined to give up immediately and accept no responsibility.nnShame on all of you. My son relied on you and you completely gave up and let him down seven minutes in. Shame.nnI’ll be happy to take down this review when someone calls me to communicate about this problem.

Could not have ask for a better staff of people. From the Principals, teachers, special ed interventionists, bus drivers,teacher aides, office, nurses, janitors, lunchroom aides etc. I could go on & on!! This school went above & beyond for each & every child and their parents too!
