University Rentals

Lived in a house on Grosvenor, and had a great experience with university rentals! Maintenance was very responsive. Marcey and the other lady in the office are very kind and helpful!

I was scared to write a review when I first moved out because I didn’t want any money taken out of the deposit due to a bad review, but it’s been a few months now! First, this rental company is making fake reviews on their page to get their rating up. You can read through them and notice the repeating reviews! Second, the house my roommates and I lived in was horrible. In the winter we didn’t have heat so it was unbearable in our home. We had to wear winter coats downstairs along with other heavy duty clothes unless you wanted to freeze. Maintenance ever actually fixed any issues we had either, our back door was broken for about 2 months before they put a new lock on it but didn’t have the proper size doorknob so there was a gap. Also, they took out $200+ for carpet cleaning when we didn’t even have carpet??? I would say stay away from these scam artists. They don’t care about your safety at all! They only care about money.

DO. NOT. RENT. FROM. THIS. SHADY. COMPANY. Rent elsewhere, it's better to pay a little extra to live somewhere with landlords that give you even a morsel of respect than to rent from this company. We left our apartment SPOTLESS. We spent hours cleaning everything they told us to clean, and even spackled the walls. It took an entire weekend, but we were proud of our work because the apartment was in much better condition than how it was given to us. Low and behold, we were charged $400 in cleaning fees for things we already cleaned. It was completely obvious that they did not inspect the units before sending the cleaning company, and robbed us of $400. Absolutely disgusted.

University Rentals sent us free pizza which was pretty cool especially during the summer months when money was tight. They have reached out to us a couple times with such gracious acts and it is much appreciated. I would rent from them again for sure

THIS RENTAL COMPANY IS SHADY. My roommates and I rented from this company and had SO many issues. First off, the house wasn’t even cleaned when we moved into it—we had to call/email for four days to get them to come back out to clean our house. Second, we had an animal get into our walls and it unfortunately passed away. The smell of rotting animal plagued our house and they had to cut open our wall to try and find the animal. When they couldn’t find it (more like lack of effort of trying to find the animal) they stuffed our wall with GAIN DRYER SHEETS hoping the problem went away. Immediately the odor was back and mixed with the smell of gain dryer sheets. My roommate had to have a stern talk to the maintenance man about actually taking the dead animal out instead of putting a band aid on the real problem. Thirdly, the maintenance staff never told us when they were coming or what they did to fix our issues. Also, our upstairs bathroom ceiling leaked for weeks without anyone coming to fix the roof. University rentals does NOT take care of their properties or care about their tenants. Our security deposit is actually a joke because they say they had to take out $423 worth of cleaning when I know my roommates and I clean that place top to bottom. This rental company is a scam. If I were you I would spend the extra money on a worth while rental company who cares about their properties and their tenants. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THESE STUDENT HOUSING SLUM LORDS.
