Coady Rentals

From the start my experience with Coady Rentals was bad. The day we went in to sign the lease they had tried to raise the rent $75 a month without even telling us, luckily we caught it on the lease. Yet the property Manager tried everything to not lower our rent back down to the price we were originally given.nnDuring the year many different problems arise. On move-in day the house was extremely dirty even though they said the house was “professionally“ cleaned and painted. (I understand that this is a college campus and it will never be perfect but the house was atrocious). It took them over 3 weeks to get a cleaning crew out to our house and by that point, we cleaned everything ourselves. As the year went on there were problems with our house, like a clogging toilet. After we failed to fix it we called the maintenance. Yet a few days later the landlord, Brian, randomly showed up without 24-hour notice and threatened to evict us (All over a clogged toilet). They discriminate against tenants with service animals saying they are not allowed to have them in the house. I could go on and on with examples but needless to say, they did not care about their tenants.nnThis leasing company just wants to get as much money from you as possible and if you think you’re going to get your security deposit back you would be mistaken, even if you clean everything. Right now I am renting a property from University Rentals and they are 100 times better in every way. The property manager is one of the nicest and most caring ladies you will meet. If you are thinking of Coady Rentals be prepared to always have to jump threw hoops just to have a decent experience. I have worked with college students that acted more professional than a single person that works for Coady Rentals. They think that just because we are college students professionalism and mutual respect are not a thing. Do your self a favor and just find a different leasing company.

Rented from them for one year and that was more than enough. Brian is the most unprofessional man I have ever met or attempted to work with. He could care less about you or the property or anything you have to say. Rent from anywhere else. ANYWHERE else.

The property manager Brian is easily the most unprofessional guy I know. The way he treats former, current customers, and potential clients is atrocious. He should be ashamed of himself and I would highly recommend finding another company to rent from.

Stay away at all costs. Most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They are unreasonable and refused to fix necessary repairs which resulted in horrible living conditions. They blamed us for things that past tenants were responsible for and also took those damages out of our security deposit. They did not listen to our concerns and completely disregarding us day-after-day. They should not be responsible with people’s money in any way, shape or form because they will absolutely disrespect you both personally and financially.

I would find literally any other landlord to rent from in Athens Ohio. I’m writing my first google review ever because of the god awful experience I had throughout my junior year with this company.nnMaintenance doesn’t fix requests, the property manager will show up without 24 hour notice to tenants, and the properties are never cleaned before arrival. Beyond all of this, we were told a higher price for rent after we signed.nnIf you want a penny out of your security deposit back, don’t rent from here. They will charge you for damages that previous tenants have caused and when you attempt to bring things up Brian the landlord will tell you to meet him in court.nnIf I could change one thing about my OU experience, I would have never went through the struggle of Coady rentals.
