This place is awesome. The story behind it is awesome too Spacious and clean. Firewood stocked with a beautiful fireplace indoors and a firepit outside. I brought everything for a Christmas Dinner and the kitchen is beautiful and easy to work in. Road is no joke in the snow be prepared, I was not. Owner is friendly and amazing when you get your car in a ditch on Christmas eve. Lots of trails and hiking.

What a beautiful place! The owners have painstakingly reassembled the log cabin, repurposed many items used in the construction yet has all that you need. From the coffee set out, dog dishes ready, laundry detergent, and so much more. There is no Wifi here - which, to me, is a plus. There is great Verizon coverage there and our college aged daughter was able to do classwork using her phone hotspot..nnThe cabin is pet friendly per their policy. We left our dog's water bowl at home - there was one there. We left coffee filters at home - there already was a package of them there. All of the dishes, utensils, a spice rack, and more were right there. Nice Frigidaire appliances, too.nnMy advice: This is a true cabin that is in a rural area. Expect to drive a bit to get to stores or places. We are used to it at our home, too. Pack bug spray during warmer weather. We went in April, so we wore everything from t-shirts/shorts to long sleeves and jeans.nnThis cabin is a gem. Not located in a camping ground or as part of a community of cabins. The price is reasonable and worth it. We would return!

This cabin is absolutely stunning. There’s not enough words for it. Secluded, historic, but up to date appliances and EXCELLENT air conditioning. It 1000% passes the vibe check, if you’re looking for something with that hard-to-pinpoint “it” factor. It was impeccably clean: our first few minutes there we just kept finding something new about it and saying “oh my gosh it’s so NICE.”nnWe spent four nights, hiked a trail, and got out to see the Amish community nearby (highly recommend the doughnuts btw). There’s a lot of stuff to do, but most of the time we spent in the cabin playing games and by the fire pit grilling and making s’mores bc we were mostly looking for family time. We drove seven hours from Illinois and it was worth every minute. We’re already dreaming of a return visit, hopefully a longer one.nn(Copy/pasted from my Vrbo review bc this place is worth recommending everywhere!)

Great place for a weekend retreat! You just need to bring plenty of food as it is 20 minutes from restaurants and stores. Plan to cook in the brand new kitchen or cook your meals over the campfire with the provided firewood. The house and location are the stars of the trip. The cabin is from the 1800s and been tastefully updated to compliment the historical side of the house. The property is the second to last address on a quiet gravel road. Nathan and Serpell are awesome hosts. I recommend contacting them for some r&r time.
