I really enjoyed this museum. It is kind of like a permanent memorial to everyone who has ever lived in the area. There is a ton of old photos, books and items which give you a look into the area's past. The museum building itself was formerly a church. It still had stained glass windows imported from Germany nearly 150 years ago. They were very beautiful. We had the sweetest little lady that showed us around. Make sure you also see the mineral museum which is only a couple blocks away.
This museum is in a church that the aging members donated their beautiful church to the town. The balcony was for the slaves to sit in so they too could hear the word of God.
