Pleasant Grove Police Department

Really disappointed with dispatch. There was a woman who had broken down and started walking along the median on I-15 so I called the number for Highway Patrol to see if they could help her (for some odd reason I didn't think crossing 6 lanes on a highway seemed safe, and being a woman in the car by myself, wasn't about to offer any rides). They were closed. It was next to the Pleasant Grove exit and so I called them hoping they could contact Highway Patrol and let them know about the stranded woman. What I got was a very curt "That's an issue for Highway Patrol, call them. I'm getting another call and cant take your complaint". It wasn't until after I asked if she had any way to notify them because I had already tried and the line I called was closed, that she then offered to transfer me to Highway Patrol dispatch. #1- I was not calling in a "complaint". I was calling in because I was genuinely concerned for someone's safety. #2- How hard is it to nicely tell me you cant help me, but you can transfer me to who can? I know it was outside of Pleasant Grove jurisdiction. That's why I tried Highway Patrol first, and then called for help from you guys. I get that this is a high stress job, but that's no excuse to be unnecessarily rude to someone looking for help.

5 stars for Officer Ruiz 2 stars overall since I don't even know how many times I called their dispatch and asked them to have an officer simply walk outside to keep the peace while I dropped off my kids with my ex husband for his visitation and they never sent anyone out. It was literally probably 5 months of calling every week and asking for help before they actually sent someone out. And also 2 stars for whichever idiot cop it was who said that since I'm divorced, my ex husband yelling at me in the parking lot and threatening to not bring back the kids is "all just a civil matter" and "there's nothing he can/will do, 'because I'm divorced'"

Great job for last night busting this guy that had the 2 girls held at gun Point in side his home. Kudos to you all.

The people working for the Pleasant Grove Police Department are awesome. Every interaction I've had with this office has been positive. The staff and officers are courteous and efficient. Thank you so much for all the great work you do!
