Excellent museum. I thought it was done quite well. Lots of great information, even before you enter the museum itself. The entrance is located in the current train station, which was bright, clean, and modern, which provided a nice contrast to the old Customs house where the museum is actually located.nIt's not very large, but it's packed with history and is organized well. Seeing photos of what crossing the border was actually like back then was extremely powerful. To realize what people went through just to make it to this point, and that freedom was within eyesight... Only one mighty obstacle to go.nI highly recommend this museum. You can almost feel the torrent of emotion that must have been as powerful as Niagara Falls itself. I found this to be a very emotional experience.
Me and my fiancee was able to attend the grand opening of this museum. The exhibits were visually amazing combined with great historical data. If you're ever in town I would recommend you make a stop by the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center.
One of my favorite parts about Niagara Falls! Staff is amazing and super kind, and the museum is wonderful and very informative. A must-see for anyone, whether you’re a local or tourist!
Smithsonian-level quality at this museum. I highly recommend. The museum is small but bring children here and read EVERYTHING to them.
Eye-opening experience. It was the best part of our visit to Niagara Falls!!
