My daughter loves her teacher. But the bus system needs work. There are always kids on the bus bullying her an other students. Other than that its a good school
I believe this school needs some work, my daughter attended from K- 5 and her best year was grade 5 with Mrs Larkin!!! She is a great, caring, friendly teacher that clearly enjoys children :) As for the rest of the years my daughter had a hard time in kindergarten leaving Mom at home so that was tough. Following she had a lunch lady threaten her right behind my back while I was having lunch with her ( Don’t think I’m going to let you get away with this) whatever that meant she clearly didn’t want her mom to see, I went to lunch numerous times and they were constantly turning off the lights on these kids, ( which means no talking), dirty looks from lunch ladies and wouldn’t even help her open something. Next issue was a teacher by the name of Mrs Antenelli, and School psychologist Mrs Gebeheart who believed it was a good idea to bring my child in a small copy room and close the door to address a problem which could have waited until the next day and in a classroom setting. My child came from that room and the teacher proceeded to tell me she brought too much candy to school and she took it away so of course any child would be upset went to the school psychologist to talk. Both the teacher and psychologist should have known better than to bring a child into a copy room!! Needless to say they agreed to bring my daughter in a small copy room and close the door to corner her I’m not sure, but my daughter said she felt trapped with no way out because the teacher stood in front of the door. When they came out of the small room the teacher came to me laughing and joking saying Marissa is probably mad at me I took her candy , she brought to much then scarcastly said to Marissa now you can go home and eat as much candy as you want not on my watch. This teacher was very sarcastic and would say to my daughter why don’t you drink some more water( which they are supposed to do) because my child had to use the bathroom often and was on Miralax, so that does make you go to the bathroom. This teacher was a very rude individual who believes it’s ok to be sarcastic to children. Next, a libarian ripped some Mickey Mouse ears off her head and left a mark behind her ears because they lit up and were distracting. I spoke to the principal numerous times over the years and he didn’t always agree with what was going on but said to me we don’t suspend anyone( of course except students) This is a teaching school. He tried to say the copy room was a work space, which is not intended for bringing children in there and closing the door if you ask me. I’m sorry I thought it was a teaching school for children, adults should already no right from wrong! So in conclusion my daughter left Florence Brasser not having any trust in the school system, teachers, lunch ladies, school psychologist. Talk with your children and see what goes on in their school, I am fortunate enough to have a very smart little girl who knows when something is not right and she told her parents, but some kids might not!
We're to start... the elementary school itself is very clean and updated. There are certainly some wonderful people who work here. There are great teacher's I had come to know very well that I hold in high regard others not so much. The nurse is a sweet and caring woman that is missed by myself and my children. With that being said I have had two children enter kindergarten at Brasser one who graduated to Middle School and my second who moved to a new school at the beginning of the fourth grade. I am as are my children and family very pleased to no longer be with the schì-ool. Speaking for myself and sadly many other friends and neighbors Brasser's biggest downfall is the principal. His actions over many years under many different circumstances have left a bad taste in the mouths of many families. Not to mention in a 5-7 year span has lost 3 Vice principals one whom lasted a year. He lacks direction, kindness, understanding and is extremely difficult to work with as a parent and even several staff members who we're my partners in my children's education had very little to say positively in regards to there supposed school leader. He rarely is seen or heard from leaving most daily tasks to his vice principal and where school funds go each year is anyone's guess. While every other school has great field trips, in fact each individual school in our district take's 5th graders to Seabreeze for the day at the end of the school year Brasser is the only one who does not and that's a small example. I hope someday Brasser becomes the great neighborhood school it used to and still should be again.
I go to this school and it's amazing
My son currently being punished for reporting harassment against vice principle paul adams just received a police report documenting itnSo unfortunate
