Newton Police Department

Corrupted police department. They impounded my car on my way to work for only driving 20 miles above the speed limit and not having insurance. My car is my house and now I walk the streets because the police won't even let me sleep at the police station.

I work on Spring Street and all day long, all I hear are sirens. Police cars and ambulances alike. I have learned to make the discernible difference between the 2. This city has its fair share of drug-related crime, etc. In addition, I ALWAYS see motorists using hand held cellulars, etc. or throwing candy/food wrappers out of the windows of their moving vehicles.nnSo I was a bit surprised when a policeman on foot yelled at me in the street for not crossing the street at a crosswalk when there wasn't a car in sight!! Maybe closer attention can be paid to stopping crime, getting a grip on the sale and use of illegal drugs, paying attention to and ticketing people on hand held cell phones and people that litter, loiter and panhandle in this city.nnJust a thought.
